Roaming London on the day of King CHarles IIIs first Trooping of the Colour, including the Churchill War Rooms as a highlight. From Itinerary- Day 2: Sat 17 June
LONDON
Full day to explore central London on foot.
• Churchill’s (Cabinet) War Rooms, Westminster 09:30 (Booked & Paid.1.5).
• A wander around Westminster– Hall, Abbey, Parliament etc.
• Tower Bridge walk, leading to the Borough Market (to 5pm, roast available), south end
London Bridge, and The George Inn (1677).
• Historic Leadenhall Market (1321. 700m, 9 mins) walk-through.
• Afternoon in West End. Covent Garden and Oxford St. The Argyll Arms Victorian Gin Palace,
Oxford Circus, is authentic. Mr Fogg’s Tavern in the theatre district is worth a look.
• Fortnam & Mason, Piccadilly St, St James, is preferred by locals over Harrods.
• Evening visit to Soho. Maybe Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club or Ain’t Nothin’ but the Blues Bar.
