Portugal had sufferred several days of fires (~300) and unfurtunately our trip into the picturesque Duoro valley wine growing region around Pinhao was 'smoked out' with visbility down to 200 metres. A river cruise in the afternnon was cancelled. We however had the opportunity for a long visit to Quinta Nova winery and its restaurant where we had an extended degustation lunch, before returning via Pinhao to Porto.
