Leaving the tourist town of San Sebastian, we had a van and driver to get us to Spain's premier wine region, La Rioja. Our first stop was Eguren Ugarte for a modern winery tour and tasting. We moved on to the nearby town of Laguardia and an old winery named La Fortuna. We wandered around the spectacular hilltop town and then returned to Eguren Ugarte for the night, greeted by stunning autumn vinyard views in the sunset. We had a most memorable dinner in town with a 'waitress with attitude' collecting and returning us to our accomodation.
