2018_01_28 - ODI at Optus Stadium
First event at Optus Stadium - Australia vs England ODI, that England won after setting 259, Australia all out 247.
The stadium passed its first test though I suspect the train movement needs more work as there were still lots of people queuing to get out an hour after play ended (I stayed for presentations and did some night photos in that time). Buses away from south side seemed to work well. Belmont park had 500 car bays on a pre-booking scheme at $20 that a friend alerted me to and only 250 were taken up this first time with 2 days notice. They can expand to 900 depending on Belmont park events.
The stadium facilities themselves are fantastic with plenty of space and reasonable queues for food and drinks with the 53,000+ crowd. Well attended by WACA members. The LED lights are impressive as are the coloured LED panels that can be programmed to oscillate with music. No obvious fails that I saw today.... back on Thursday for T20 semi-final!
