Worth 1000 - 31 Day Jan' 2015
Take a photo a day for all of January 2015 for Worth 1000 31-Day Challenge .
My theme is related to Walking my Dog Cinders, a Blue Heeler-Border Collie cross. As the month rolls on I'll have to move into aspects of of the walk, and I'm not sure exactly how this will pan out .
This is only my second challenge outside my Astrophotography hobby, so I expect robust constructive feedback will be required.
Alternates Gallery is here.
Good luck to all giving this a go!

on January 2, 2015Very cute dog, Geoff (I almost wrote Scott but then remembered from last challenge). I am thinking we are going to learn a lot about the personality of you pup. Looks like a border collie but I'm not sure. Nice start to your challenge! :-) Maggie aka Eurydice from Worth

on January 2, 2015Wow, Cinders has a super intent look on her face! I'll look forward to seeing her in action, and getting to know her personality through your photos!

on January 1, 2015Great photo of Cinders....had you thought of perhaps coming in closer on her face? I would love to see the fur textures closer.

on January 4, 2015Yes Leo it is pretty flat on the Perth coastal plain in general... an old sea floor. Bike riding is definitely enabled and I do a little bit of that in a team with Kimbomac and another work colleague for a mini triathlon coming up next weekend :)

on January 4, 2015Great set of pics, it looks flat where you live, cycling country? Not like here you can't go anywhere without going up a hill.

on January 2, 2015She looks very well behaved and ready to leap into action, I look forward to seeing you piece of Australia and more of pretty Cinders

on January 2, 2015Marga, we selected here from a litter of 8 at 6 weeks as she had the best markings even then, so I agree she is a pretty dog :)
I don't use Lightroom despite repeated advice to do so from kimbomac... just Photoshop where my main tools are curves & levels as well as vibrance and saturation and brightness and contrast occasionally. I could have done a better job for sure with a little more patience.

on January 2, 2015Such a pretty dog.
(If you use lightroom to process your pics you can use the L of the HSL sliders to darken the greens)

on January 2, 2015Louise, the walk varies around a 2 kilometre 'green strip' in my southern Perth suburb of Willetton. There are four parks in that and my walk uses various parts or all of that. There are a number of offshoots also, however I'll try to restrict myself to the routine areas as I hoping there'll be enough material there for the month.

on January 2, 2015Good way to start and illustrate your theme. Do you do the same walk everyday? It'll be interesting to see how you keep it all fresh and interesting.
Geoff
on January 2, 2015Yes, agreed Kim... I pushed the curves up a bit to high whilst trying to get Cinders shadow side more presentable.

on January 2, 2015Cinder does not look camera shy. One of mine hides when the camera thing is pointed his way. The other wants to help me take every picture. Lets see how many ways you can catch her :)

on January 1, 2015Great shot. Love the wide expanse showing the park, and Cinders' pose looks great. I think the brighter grass area could do with slightly less exposure and perhaps a bit more saturation and contrast for some oomph, but not too much so that it looks unnatural. A great start to your challenge! Well done.
