Day 1 - Cobweb on Pool Fence
The pool fence is a constant source of spider actvity. This shot from down low over the garden and house in the morning sun showed a nice colour gradient that I'd not anticpated.
Canon 60D, Vello Macrofier, Reveresed Canon 18-200mm IS lens, manual focus.

on February 2, 2016Thanks for the tip MML - recent macro testing happened to be after rain so I know the effect you mean ... good idea to recreate :)
Thanks everyone for your comments.

on February 2, 2016Having build multiple times by spiders the web looks a lot like a fishing net. Lovely gradient indeed. I wonder if you used a tripod, I find those very helpful when doing macro.

on February 2, 2016If you should want to give a go at this another day, when all other good subjects are rare to find... it is fun to get a small squirt bottle, and spray a fine mist on the web, and see if you can catch the sunlight... just a twist and a bit of fun. I really like the gradient on the clean background...it makes your subject stand front and center :)

on February 1, 2016The colour gradient is very pretty. There is perhaps not quite enough web that's pin sharp so that there are some distractions, but the bit that is sharp draws the eye well. It reminds me of some sort of Sci-Fi space web - huge in the extreme!

on February 1, 2016Interesting shot, they look very aged and weathered. A nice contrast to the colorful background.

on February 1, 2016Bob, the webs get disturbed by me making a half-attempt to clean them up, and they get tangled like this, and then rebuilt upon by the spiders that hide themselves in the top fence rail above!
