I was wanting a fast shorter focal length DSLR lens at modest cost. I decided to try a vintage Pentax lens with M42 mount. These have 45.46 mm flange distance, > 44mm Canon EOS so with a short adapter can be adapted and reach infinity focus for Astrophotography. Pentax 200mm SMC Takumar M42 (S/N 7468007) - Purchased on eBay (Manchester, UK) for $154 + $26 P&H 30/9/2018.
