First Light for the Apogee 80 - The Gibbous Moon (11 days old) - 19/09/2010 (Original)
Well first light for me anyway. Becoming impatient waiting for the mount to arrive, I found that the Apogee has an adapter for mounting on a camera tripod ... so I did!
Exposure 1/250 Sec ISO 200 JPEG with Canon 400D DSLR at prime focus.
Image is unprocessed outside the camera. This optical and camera configuration produces a 165' x 107' image, so the ~30' Moon covers less than 1/5th of the field. Also see separate cropped and adjusted image.
