Lighting the Southern Cross
Post processed with Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 This was a first test of the Canon EF 50mm f1/8 lens piggybacked on EQ mount for tracking to determine how flat the field is with this lens. This was stopped to f/5.6 and shows very little coma in the corners. This image show limited detail at 16sec in suburban skies, howver it should be useful in a dark sky when the opportunity arises. Lens EF 50mm f/1.8 with Hakuba Skylight (1A) filter, Baader BCF modified Canon 70D DSLR field 17 x 25 Deg , Ambient ??C. EQMOD EQASCOM with Ascom 6 for mount control.
