Not ideal conditions with the Moon 1-day before full and from home in the suburbs. I wanted to test a guided image using my Canon 70D and 18-200mm EF-S lens rather than fixed tripod. There is obvious vignetting to the corners and a spot on the lens (mid right) so flats are required. Whilst the Sagittarius region contains many dust clouds, the suburban light is a contributor to the bottom to top gradient. Clouds starting to cross. ANZAC Day, 25/4/2015 was the 100th anniversary of the disastrous World War I campaign at Gallipoli, Turkey. We remember those Australians and New Zealanders who have paid with their lives in all wars at their country's call. We remember all those who have put themselves in harms way to uphold the values and freedoms we sometimes take for granted, but which we hold so dear. "They went with songs to the battle, they were young. Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them."
The central bulge of the Milky Way is found around Scorpius and lower into Sagittarius. The Scorpion is well defined here in the centre of the image, along with a 'spurious star' , that is Saturn. The sky is still quite blue as the crescent Moon was still setting i the west.
