After 41 years of association with Perth Observatory, 31 years worked, this was Greg's last Star Viewing Night (SVN) before retirement. After celebrations were over, I captured the now high Milky Way with the Southern Cross to the rIght and Carinae in the mid-left under the trees near the 'University Dome' at Perth Observatory.

Not ideal conditions with the Moon 1-day before full and from home in the suburbs. I wanted to test a guided image using my Canon 70D and 18-200mm EF-S lens rather than fixed tripod. This cropped version hides lens vignetting and a spot on the lens seen in the uncropped version. Not enough imaging time and sky contrast to get much milky way or nebulous colour. DeepSkyStacker 3.3.4 Stacked 85% of 17 Images ISO 800 @ 20 Sec f/5.6 F=18mm, 98 DARK @ 120 Sec, 32 BIAS, 0 FLATS, Post-processed with Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 Canon 18-200mm EF-S lens, Hoya HMC UV(c) filter, Baader BCF modified Canon 70D DSLR , Ambient 18C.
