2022 Remote Control
2021 Experimentation lead me to a direction of city living and remotely hosting my telescope. I pursued greater automation and remote control, that with a little more work, should prove operable to get started. I have signed an agreement for a remote observatory location that should eventuate in 2023.
During the year, I had the opportunity to buy a 1970's Celestron 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain fork mounted with no tripod, as a collectible item. This was my aspirational telescope in the late 1970's.
I established a Global Meteor Network (GMN) camera at my home location. This is a global citizen science project that aims to understand more about the meteors that hit the earth's atmosphere constantly.
I also began planning and testing of Solar imaging configuration around my Skywatcher ED80 for a total solar eclipse in Exmouth, April 20, 2023.
Unless stated otherwise, images are from my home location in Leeming, 15 Km south of the centre of Perth, Western Australia. Leeming has SQM 19.00 Bortle 6 skies.
My favourite shots can also be found on AstroBin http://www.astrobin.com/users/scottastrophe
