2019 Refocusing 3
Following 2015 , 2016, 2017 and then again 2018 that had many distractions with travel, work redundancy late 2018 and POVG volunteering I again have hopes of a renewed focus in 2019.
Aims for 2019 were again to use New Moon dark sky opportunities at Perth Observatory or elsewhere to try some wide-field DSLR milky way shots as well as intermediate telephoto lenses and more telescopic faint nebulous objects.
I continued to have hopes, not much progressed in the last 5 years, to try some mosaics and some HDR images in order to challenge me to improve my Photoshop skills and possibly even have a look at PixInsight, that is now an an entrenched Astrophotography software toolkit item.
I continued my involvement with Perth Observatory's Volunteer Group (POVG) for Perth Observatory's public outreach programmes including coordinating the 4-person private 'star adoption' tours and involved in the Training of new volunteers with reference material and hands on training for equipment. Access to automated Celstron 14" with CCD camera and filters gave opportunity to experiment with LRGB processing and extended to retying the iTelescope online service with some success.
Unless stated otherwise, images are from my home location in Willetton or Leeming, 12 or 15 Km south of the centre of Perth, Western Australia, though I used this far less now as it is unsuitable for faint objects using one-shot colour DSLR. Willetton SQM 18.85, Leeming 19.00 both Bortle 6 skies.
